This sheer shirt is made from a plain-woven fabric using ultra-fine No. 160 ramie yarn, a premium material that offers exceptional lightness, breathability, and a crisp, cool texture against the skin. Ramie, also known as choma in Japan, is a traditional bast fiber that has long been used across Asia alongside hemp. Known for its excellent moisture absorption and natural cooling properties, it is ideal for the warmer seasons and remains comfortable throughout the year. However, high-quality ramie is increasingly rare, as production areas are limited and the number of ramie farmers continues to decline. Today, it is considered a highly scarce material—so much so that it may become unavailable in the future. To highlight the natural sheerness of ramie, we’ve created a breezy summer shirt that feels cool even in the hottest months. The silhouette is square and slightly relaxed through the body without appearing overly wide, creating a clean and flattering fit. A key design detail is the tucked collar, which adds a touch of refinement and draws attention to the face. The long sleeves provide sun protection and are finished with straight cuffs to make rolling them up easy. The addition of pockets makes this shirt practical as a lightweight outer layer for summer.
