This dress features a combination of 100% linen and leno weave fabric. Leno weave, known in Japanese as karami-ori or twisted weave, is a traditional textile technique in which warp threads are twisted around each other to create open spaces in the fabric. This weaving method has long been used in the context of kimono-making in Japan and has been carefully developed to suit the country's hot and humid summers. It provides enhanced airflow and a refreshing feel, making it ideal for warm-weather garments. In this particular fabric, the warp yarns are twisted in groups of four to create consistent spacing between threads, which results in excellent breathability and a light, airy texture. Combined with the natural moisture-absorbing and moisture-releasing qualities of linen, this fabric ensures a high level of comfort. Due to the nature of the material, we recommend air drying the garment. Using a tumble dryer may cause the woven gaps between threads to shrink significantly, leading to overall shrinkage and a loss of the fabric’s original sheer and breathable qualities, as well as its intended silhouette.
