We’ve developed a new UpcycleLino Denim in collaboration with a long-established manufacturer based in Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture—one of the world’s most renowned denim-producing regions. This partner has been in operation since 1905 and brings deep expertise to the project. The fabric uses recycled yarn (hanmō-shi), giving new life to pre-consumer textile waste. This new denim is a lighter 9.5 oz weight, making it ideal for year-round wear. (Previous UpcycleLino denim weighed 10 oz.) The weft yarn is made from mixed-color recycled fibers, which creates a naturally occurring gray tone. As a result, the indigo fabric takes on a deeper, more subdued navy compared to denim that uses white weft yarn. To make this denim more breathable and suitable for warmer seasons, the indigo dye has been adjusted to produce a slightly lighter shade of navy. Additionally, the surface has been finished to suppress fuzziness, enhancing its cool and lightweight feel. Please note: due to the high indigo content, color transfer and fading may occur with wear and washing. This piece features A CONFECT’s signature crew-neck vest design. With a relaxed, slightly wide fit, it’s easy to layer over various tops. The shoulder seams are shifted for a more natural drape, and the low-cut armholes allow for smooth layering over sweatshirts or hoodies. Its simple crew neck and clean silhouette make it versatile for everyday styling. Large nut buttons add a distinctive touch, and the side-seam pockets offer practical functionality.
