A sports shoe brand founded in France in 1892.
Starting out with agricultural work boots, the company has a history of garnering acclaim for its sports shoes, particularly soccer cleats, since the 1930s.
For nearly 30 years, we have maintained the tradition of using the original French lasts and designs, and have continued to release these Japanese-made sneakers.
This time, a collaboration sneaker between PATRICK and nest Robe / CONFECT has been realized.
Based on the ARTOIS court shoes for tennis, squash, etc. from PATRICK's 1980s archives, nest Robe / CONFECT supplied the linen canvas used as a standard fabric for the upper.
This model features low-tech 1980s lasts and design, and a moderately delicate form, making it a perfect match as a classic sneaker that fits in well with the style of nest Robe / CONFECT.
We also appreciate the careful sneaker manufacturing process at a long-established factory in Himeji, Hyogo Prefecture. This project coincided with nest Robe/CONFECT's manufacturing philosophy, which is based on collaboration with domestic factories, and led to the development of this project.
The biggest feature of this sneaker is the use of 100% linen, thick-count black canvas, a material that nest Robe/CONFECT has previously used in coats, jackets, and bottoms, for the upper of the sneakers.
Incorporating a fabric is rare in itself, but we took advantage of the durability of 12-count heavy linen and conducted repeated strength tests to make it a reality.
The two stripes and the tongue are made of gray steerhide, and the overall stitching is also gray, matching the color scheme with the black.
The shoelaces are made of 100% waxed cotton to avoid an overly sporty impression.
The accent gray color was chosen to contrast with the overall black, while blending in slightly with the dull color of the linen.
These shoes match nest Robe/CONFECT styles in any season, making them a timeless piece you can incorporate into your wardrobe.
A specially made, original nest Robe/CONFECT drawstring bag is included.
