This vest was designed in collaboration with Kazuyo Takiguchi of nestRobe Press.
Inspired by Western vintage jackets, the waist box pockets, peak lapel design, and leather buttons are inspired by European vintage jackets.
Inspired by the hand-stitching seen on Western jackets of the time, we deliberately used leather for the buttons to evoke the elegance of the era, but they are also made of washable cowhide, so they are machine washable. The hem is gathered to create a soft silhouette, recreating the distortion and shrinkage caused by the difference in shrinkage between the outer and lining fabrics, preserving the look of vintage clothing from that time. The lining is made of 100% off-white cotton, creating a striking color scheme. This is a piece packed with attention to detail.

Outer fabric: A beautiful dump material woven at a high density using low-lint single yarn for the warp and a cotton-linen blend single yarn for the weft.
The finishing touch is a washer process, which gives it a firm texture while still feeling comfortable against the skin. Both weaving and processing are carried out in Nishiwaki City, Hyogo Prefecture.
Lining: A plain weave fabric using uneven 100% cotton yarn for both the warp and weft, woven in Nishiwaki City, Hyogo Prefecture. Spinning on a spinning machine from the 1970s gives it a vintage feel. Furthermore, a shuttle loom is used to slowly weave the yarn without applying too much tension, resulting in a soft, fluffy fabric.
