A CONFECT original contemporary take of the traditional smock shirt that was used as agricultural workwear in the 18th century. This smock shirt features a wide body oversized fitting, designed to have a generous size that allows for layering, similar to outerwear. Unlike traditional smock shirts we have eliminated the gathers and tucks around the neckline for a simple and clean look, making it an easy-to-match item.
The fabric is made from a blend of linen and silk, produced in an area known for its expertise in combed yarn weaving in Gifu Prefecture, Japan. Expertly woven on a dobby loom, the linen warp and weft yarns intricately alternate with silk, creating a geometric pattern. Careful color adjustments result in a unique, melon-like texture and remarkable gradation.
