A distinctive feature of this item is that even though it is made of wool, it can be washed using a laundry net. It is a MADE IN JAPAN material, knitted in Wakayama and finished in Gifu.
The front side is made of wool, and the back side is made of dry-touch cut-and-sew fabric. To match the texture of the wool on the front, the back side is made of air-spun yarn, so that even though the front is wool and the back is cotton, it is designed to have a sense of unity as a single piece of fabric.
(Open-air spun yarn: A method in which fibers are drawn together and twisted by injecting air. A major characteristic is that the fibers are uneven, and when made into yarn, the outside is strongly twisted, but the inside is not, resulting in a voluminous yarn with a rough, coarse feel.)
The fabric is knitted using a quarter-face weave, which has different gauges on the front and back, giving the surface the appearance of a rough knit sweater. The wool adds warmth, while the back is made of cotton, so the parts that come into contact with the skin are designed to feel comfortable when worn.
