This original pattern is created by using bleached European linen for the warp and changing the color of the weft.

The off-white color that makes up the pattern is not the result of color differences caused by dyeing the yarn, but rather comes from a process called "letting" used to make the linen yarn. The European yarn is made using "dewletting," a method often used to describe our black linen, in which flax is laid out on a field and fermented using moisture from rain and dew, resulting in a grayish off-white.

The Egyptian yarn is made using "waterletting," a method in which flax is soaked in water and fermented by anaerobic bacteria in the water, resulting in a golden yellow-like off-white. This time, the pattern is woven using the natural color differences that arise from differences in country of origin and process.
