This knit features a natural texture created by combining different materials, linen and bamboo cotton, in a pique stitch.

The subtle differences in color and texture resulting from the differences in materials create an atmosphere that cannot be achieved with regular jersey. While it appears to be a simple knit, the combination of linen and bamboo, two particularly distinctive natural fibers, requires highly skilled techniques and takes more time than usual to knit.

To take advantage of the rough texture and overall lightness of the linen and bamboo, this item features a boat neck and a roomy fit, with ribbing at the hem and cuffs.

The yarn is twisted in Aichi Prefecture, dyed and knitted in Gosen City, Niigata Prefecture. This is the first time CONFECT has focused on bamboo fiber to create knit yarn.

Bamboo fiber itself is a natural material that has long been used in many products in Japan. It has long been used in everyday items such as baskets, colanders, and mats, woven from finely split bamboo lengthwise, as well as in military equipment. From the late 19th century through the 20th century, its potential as a fiber for clothing began to be explored.
Today, bamboo has become one of the most popular sustainable materials, and a blend of bamboo and cotton is a relatively new fiber. Bamboo fiber has countless grooves on its surface, allowing it to quickly absorb and release moisture, and it has high antibacterial and deodorizing properties, making it an ideal natural material for the summer.
