Kapok raw materials are primarily harvested from seeds in Southeast Asia and South America. Because they are cultivated without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilizers, they are an eco-friendly material that is attracting a lot of attention, being kind to both the environment and people.
The fibers have an extremely high hollowness rate of 70-80%, making it an ultra-lightweight material with a specific gravity said to be 1/8 that of cotton, and it is more fluffy than the same weight of 100% cotton.
Also known as white silk cotton, it has a high-quality luster and smooth texture.
