A relaxed-fit reversible vest featuring a linen gingham check on the lining. Designed with a V-neck silhouette, lightly finished with pipping details, welted pockets on one side and patch pockets on the other. The main body is crafted from a plain weave black linen fabric from heavy weight yarns. The lining is from a plain weave gingham fabric made of lightweight warp and medium weight linen single yarn.
Black linen is a rare, slow-made natural linen which has dark grayish hue from the earthy colors of the soil that the flax fibers absorb during natural retting. Harvesting black linen is very limited as it is heavily reliant on uncontrollable weather conditions during the rainy seasons that must be carefully balanced to promote the development of beneficial bacteria in the harvested field in order to make the linen’s distinctive darker hue.
