A design base from CONFECT's essential wide-fit collared shirt jacket, crafted from plain weave heavy weight black linen fabric from flax fibers harvested in Europe.
Black linen is a rare and slow made natural linen which has dark grayish hue from the natural colors of the soil that the flax fibers have soaked from natural retting. Harvesting of black linen is very limited as it is heavily reliant on uncontrollable weather conditions such as the period of the rainy season, its duration, and the amount rained having to be balanced to promote the development of bacterial actions at the harvested field in order to make its natural darker color.
The black linen fabric has also undergone brushing which is a very sophisticated technique for linen, done by highly skilled expert artisans available only at a few fabric houses in Japan. This rare and sustainable fabric has unique natural textures, soft and warm to the touch which wears better over time.
