DETAILS
A Henley-neck pullover top specially uneven-dyed. Each piece is individually dyed by hand, adjusting the dyeing process to create an uneven effect. Similar to tie-dye, areas that should not be dyed are controlled, resulting in a unique gradient expression where no two are the same. Made in our original upcycled cotton-linen sweat fabric created from our sustainable UpcycleLino yarn in the renowned knit manufacturing region of Wakayama, and finished in Osaka Japan.
The fabric is knitted from a heavy UpcycleLino yarn on the top, a heavy organic cotton binding yarn in the middle and a heavier organic cotton yarn on the bottom. The fibers made from leftover waste from our garment production, are typically short and uneven making it unsuitable to knit, therefore high-quality cotton fibers are blended to make the upcycled yarn suitable for knitting and weaving. The uneven yarns create a vintage-like texture.

Introducing UpcycleLino
UpcycleLino is the trademark for our original yarns and fabrics made of our production fabric waste.
Usually, when we cut our fabric, about 30% of the fabric is wasted (40% to 50% in general). But now, by making special garments and hangers using our own new upcycled yarns and fabrics, we can reduce the waste to 0%.
With our dedication to sustainable circular fashion and commitment to reducing the waste in our manufacturing process, we have developed an original upcycled yarn made of our linen fabric waste from our garment production. The upcycled fiber is made out of our pure linen fabric scraps with added organic virgin cotton fiber to become our original upcycled linen-cotton yarn named UpcycleLino.
We then produce upcycled fabric with this upcycled new yarn to create new clothing. There comes another fabric waste after the upcycled garments are produced, then we make upcycled hangers out of the remaining waste, following our social mission of "Full upcycle production = ZERO Waste" and thereby upgrading our sustainable circular fashion.
We received the GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2021 for our initiatives to the sustainable circular fashion.
