A collaboration piece with "WIFE & HUSBAND", a coffee and antique shop base in Kyoto, Japan.

The design is inspired from a 1930s antique atelier coat that has been loved and repaired multiple times by the owner husband, Mr. Kyoichi Yoshida. The coat features workwear motif details of double stich chest and hip patch pockets, stand collar convertible button closure, as well as a central back vent.

This coat is made in our original plain weave upcycled linen cotton fabric woven with medium weight linen warp yarn and our original heavier weight UpcycleLino cotton-linen weft yarn which is made of linen fabric leftover from our garment production.

・Tailored collar, convertible as a stand collar with a single lapel button closure.
・Front down button closure.
・Double stitched chest pocket and hip patch pockets.
・Single inner chest patch pocket.
・Unlined.
・Central back vent.
・Garment dyed (Ink Black), Boiled wash (Natural).

Introducing UpcycleLino
UpcycleLino is the trademark for our original yarns and fabrics made of our production fabric waste.
Usually, when we cut our fabric, about 30% of the fabric is wasted (40% to 50% in general). But now, by making special garments and hangers using our own new upcycled yarns and fabrics, we can reduce the waste to 0%.

With our dedication to sustainable circular fashion and commitment to reducing the waste in our manufacturing process, we have developed an original upcycled yarn made of our linen fabric waste from our garment production. The upcycled fiber is made out of our pure linen fabric scraps with added organic virgin cotton fiber to become our original upcycled linen-cotton yarn named UpcycleLino.

We then produce upcycled fabric with this upcycled new yarn to create new clothing. There comes another fabric waste after the upcycled garments are produced, then we make upcycled hangers out of the remaining waste, following our social mission of "Full upcycle production = ZERO Waste" and thereby upgrading our sustainable circular fashion.

We received the GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2021 for our initiatives to the sustainable circular fashion.
