[UpcycleLino BASIC] Cotton Wool Denim Cardigan Shirt

An oversize-fit cardigan shirt from our genderless UpcycleLino BASIC lineup. By tailoring the design of a high-neck cardigan, which is often made of knit, with our upcycled denim, we were able to create an easy-care product that can be washed at home without worrying about stretching and sagging. The soft and lightweight-material allows you to wear it like a shirt with an added advantage of insulation due to the wool-denim fabric.
Our original ‘UpcycleLino Wool Denim’ fabric is crafted in the world-renowned denim manufacturing region for Kojima, Okayama Japan. This sustainable eco-friendly fabric is made of indigo dyed cotton warp yarns using rope-dyeing for the indigo blue with white undyed core in the yarn; and the weft yarn is made of our original cotton-linen UpcycleLino with wool blend. The wool blend fabric is also itch-free for maximum comfort.
Available in two colors of Indigo with wool yarns dyed in black to give depth in color, and Off White which uses natural undyed yarns for its subtle hue.

*The use of upcycled yarn to make this item may result in unevenness, naps, and appearance of foreign fibres mixed in the fabric. These characteristics cannot be considered a defect.
*The indigo color may cause color transferring due to indigo dyed yarn used. Color transferring occurs when washing your laundry, while the clothing is in a wet pile together, or when rubbed against items with light colors.

Introducing UpcycleLino
UpcycleLino is the trademark for our original yarns and fabrics made of our production fabric waste.
Usually, when we cut our fabric, about 30% of the fabric is wasted (40% to 50% in general). But now, by making special garments and hangers using our own new upcycled yarns and fabrics, we can reduce the waste to 0%.

With our dedication to sustainable circular fashion and commitment to reducing the waste in our manufacturing process, we have developed an original upcycled yarn made of our linen fabric waste from our garment production. The upcycled fiber is made out of our pure linen fabric scraps with added organic virgin cotton fiber to become our original upcycled linen-cotton yarn named UpcycleLino.

We then produce upcycled fabric with this upcycled new yarn to create new clothing. There comes another fabric waste after the upcycled garments are produced, then we make upcycled hangers out of the remaining waste, following our social mission of "Full upcycle production = ZERO Waste" and thereby upgrading our sustainable circular fashion.

We received the GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2021 for our initiatives to the sustainable circular fashion.
