A collaboration piece with "WIFE & HUSBAND," a coffee and antique shop base in Kyoto, Japan.

Based on a smock shirt from the early 20th century, this design is tailored to better suit modern lifestyles. Smocks, which originated in France and other European countries and were worn by laborers such as shepherds and farmers, were handmade at the time.
Fine pleats are added to the back to maintain elasticity suitable for work. The gussets under the arms and the gussets on both sides are valuable details typical of France at that time. A loop is attached below the collar on the back of the smock so that it could be hung on a nail on the wall of the workshop, as it was worn as a work jacket.
The W&H initials are embroidered on the front hem, recreating the cross-stitch technique of the time.

MATERIAL:66% linen, 34% cotton
This plain weave fabric uses extra-fine 80-count linen for the warp threads and 27-count Upcycle Lino for the weft threads.
It is woven in Hamamatsu (Enshu region).
By applying the Omi bleaching process to this fabric, its softness is increased and a natural crinkled texture is created.
This natural crinkled texture creates a unique vintage feel and also adds to its comfortable feel against the skin.
